i just wanted to tell everyone thank you so much for all the great advice! thanks to ya'll i went back to a meeting that was really great and i got a few potential temp sponsor contacts. i am very excited and can't wait to get this going now. this has really made my day and lots of ((((hugs)))) to everyone!
Awesome to see your post-I looked first at the former one to see if you decided to go back. glad that you were able to connect with some folks. Hope you keep coming back here too!
Glad to hear it! You can ask your new friends all those "dumb" questions (of course, they aren't dumb at all, but we make them "dumb" in our minds) about why and how the meetings are conducted the way they are. You'll also find, as you go around to different meetings (HIGHLY recommended), that different groups have different "customs" even though they share the same program, steps, and Traditions.
Over time, certain meetings will become your favorites, but you should join a home group as soon as you can (it isn't for life--you can switch groups any time if you feel another is better for you). A home group gives you a strong "home base" to work from, and you will benefit by taking service commitments (which help the group keep going and passing the message to those who want it).
thank you again for all your wonderful support. i feel that this is the best thing i have done in a long time and have been thanking my hp everyday since i made the decision to get out there. i couldn't have done this without him at all. so i thank ya'll and i thank him... much love and thanks, elise=)
Yayyy!! Great news, Elise!! Or is it Maddy??? either way... your dog in your profile pic is beautiful, and I am sure he is excited to have a sober mommy now too!
((((hugs))))
