I am grateful for every little bit that helps sustain my recovery. I am grateful for this forum and friends like you who take time off to write something to inspire me. I am grateful to my group for the help they give me when I am down and out. Sometimes I take you for granted. Then I go some place and I realise that I missed you. We are bound to each other because of our addiction whether to alcohol or drugs. There are something about us that makes us care for one another, despite how we feel at times. I think it's called love, because love always has an object outside of itself. You understand when nobody else can. So here's to all of you, I need you and you need me. That is all that we have got. God bless. Gonee.
Wow, Gratitude,a Truly Grateful Heart, that is something that can never be taken away from us....
You Post sort of tied into some thinking this morning, about how our (Alcoholic's) lives that were so very broken, shattered, so much so, that only death looked appealing, and then with the help of friends and mostly the LOVE we have found in others, in face to face meetings, the warmth and the love, when hurting, and not hurting too, the conscious contact with the never ending LOVE of GOD, our lives have been catapulted into the words you write about.
You Post, every word had so much of HIS Power in it.
Thank You my dear Friend! Toni
PS.On that other subject, of how someday we all might be videoed as well as the written, with the advent of Skype, and surely someone will make it yet more accessable, so instead of an online meeting, we would have a worldwide meeting, at different times, with video, so when talking to someone, we would be looking at the speaker as well.....not too far off in the distance, my guess.
