Hello everyone,

Not sure if this is appropriate but I wonder if I could ask for your prayers for an alcoholic who is appealing against his death sentence. His name is John and he was in somebody's company when they died. He was blind drunk. His appeal is being heard at  the moment (started yesterday).

I often shudder to think that but for the Grace of God go I.

He said in this latest correspondence that he needs all the prayers he can get - so I am trying to round up as many as I can!!!! We both know his HP can hear him....but we both think that the more prayers sent up - the better!!aww

Thank you to anyone who feels they wish to pray for him.

Louisa xx

John is in my thoughts and prayers... and yes it is scary to realize that it very easily could have been me...

I will pray that Gods will for John be done.

I blacked out almost every day and that could have been me

Absolutely, considered him prayed for heavily today from over here. He "came to" just as many of us did, and what a horrible thing to find, and to happen. It could have easily been me or any other average alcoholic. It is a stark reminder, and his experience may just help others to not endure the same fate as he. In his suffering, he is a blessing to others. And may he be blessed in his appeal.

Send him our love and hugs.

That's rough, I am sorry to hear your friend is dealing with this. I imagine I should have been in atleast jail several times over. Must have had an angel on my shoulder, because it certainly wasn't my own wisdom that kept me out. Prayers for everyone involved, including you..Chris

Thank you all so much. I am going to write out a  list of all your names for John (first names only) and send him your prayers - he will be so grateful and I know he will feel your warmth and love. There are NO walls through which the love of AAs for each other won't penetrate.
Thank you so muchaww

I do know people in the rooms that have had this happen...most don't advertise it for fear of being judged. So when I think I can never live down the things I've done in the past...it could have been so much worse....and could get worse if I relapse...
