What is happening?

Good morning all.

This certainly is a great for recovery, to "steal" a line from Wendy!

I am wondering what is happening to me lately. I used to be a somewhat perfectionist, everything in order, now, things are a mess. My house looks like a goat exploded in it, I have no desire to wash the clothes yet from last weeks beach trip and I can't type, write or think worth a shit! (note how many times I've edited some posts).  Seems as if I can't concentrate on anything for very long. I am "all over the place" in my mind and in my surroundings. Can't stay still physically either. And  I found the gallon of milk in the cupboard this morning, instead of the fridge - that was stuff I did when I was drunk!

Is this a symptom of recovery? withdrawals, maybe?

Insight please. I feel like I'm losing it.

Love and peace

hmmm-you sound pretty normal to me Gal.:)

Just all adjusting likely, and stages.  Mind working overtime?

I put sugar in the fridge, go out on a taxi call and forget where Im going-water flowers outside when its raining-throw the cat in the dryer, after she falls into bath tub water--um--maybe on second thought I should see someone hu? hahaha

Youll be ok.:) Some days we got get up and go--some days we dont--some days we are in 20 different places at once--some days all over the map. Itll level out.

Stay cool:)

here's a link you might get something out of on post acute withdrawal.

take it easy on you today, treat yourself like your best friend

pray for peace, share about it at your meetings, hold on to recovery, you can do it!

love and hugs, Wendy

Hee hee. Hi OP!

I just threw a tiny tanty cos I couldn't find the notes I made for one of my jobs. I was certain I shoved them in my wallet. Checked 5 times - not there. Began the big rummage through the bag, desk...out to the bike, checking saddle bags...came back in and did a few laps of the house...began systematically dropping everything off my desk, certain it had to under there somewhere. By the time my mate came in I was muttering and making fff noises. He looks down at the floor and asks real cheeky like, "Sooo, is this the new filing system you were talking about?"

I grit my teeth. "I have lost the contact details for this ruddy job"

He says: Well, where did you put it?.... I just stared at him thinking he might make a good filing cabinet, then said. Well, I put it in my wallet, but buggered if I know where it is now!

He grabs my wallet off the ground, flicks it open and pulls out the scrap of paper! This it?

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!

I dunno how it happens mate...no idea. It just does. And we just have to grin and feel dumb for a bit...and then it happens to someone else, and it doesn't seem so bad.

Speaking of exploding goats...

I have a goat due to deliver, and am getting very excited. I love kidding time. There is nothing quite as wonderful as new life. Am hoping for twins, but will be happy with a healthy babe none the less.

Have a great day all.

Hi OP. Don't worry about it, it's normal. I've been sober almost a year now and today at work I was looking for my pencil for about 5 minutes, found it in my mouth!

It'll take a while for your brain to ajust to working without the alcohol, but it will ajust eventually.

Bye for now.

Chris.

Thanks so much for your repliesl. I was beginning to think I was really losing it. I tried looking up "alcohol withdrawal" etc, but only found the actual DT's so  Wendy, the link you sent is awesome. REALLY cleared up a lot for me, and the folks in my life who were beginning to worry too. Thanks so much...

It's nice to know this is typical.

Love and peace
