Will you read the "I Miss Joni Post" and respond?

Hi To all my friends,

I woke up to a PM that truthfully was extremely disturbing, and I believe it came from someone complete confused....and feel the need to ask for help....

Apparently when I sent a PM to the Poster, trying to reasure her, well as best I could that Joni was busy with work, in a very brief emial from her, JONI.

This Poster thought perhaps, dont know, that we, Joni, and myself, Toni are the same person.

Okey dokey, have a great Monday to all.

Hugs, Toni

I was a bit confused as well. I am glad to hear that JONI is ok and just busy! I think you cleared it up very well on the other post. Hopefully Janet will stay on the board and just admit it was a goof up on names and that the PM she sent was a bit over the top. Here's a few quotes that I think might sort things out. They are from a very wise fictional character from the movie "Anchorman"
Ron Burgundy: I'm in a glass case of emotion.

Ron Burgundy: [after jumping into the Kodiak bear pit at the San Diego Zoo] I immediately regret this decision.

Ron Burgundy: [to his dog] You're so wise. You're like a miniature Buddha, covered in hair.

Ron Burgundy: Sweet Lincoln's mullet.

Ron Burgundy: Great Odin's raven.

Ron Burgundy: Son of a bee-sting.

Ron Burgundy: By the beard of Zeus.

Hopefully these wise words should ring true with all.

Hi Tom,

Yes I watch again, from the start...did get some good laughs, and I was listening for the lines you quoted, made it even funnier, like the 60%, completely....haha.

What I found the funniest was the introduction that stated it was based on a real story, not going to check that out, though.

Favorite part, waiting for that little doggy to come back, surely they would not allow some poor little mutt to get kicked over a bridge and never be seen again....bad karma...:)

Toodles, life is good, God is Great, and Thank You God for my Sobriety....

Sort of funny, I am a very very mellow person....oh well, end of this story...

Happy I watched it the second time....

Toni

I was uh, starting to getr concerned about Joni, too. Thanks for sharing that she's in the good.
Also, It's a relief to know that she's not one aspect of an individual with multiple-personality disorder who posts as several people. That can be a bit disconcerting.

My ex-fiance was MPD and what a pain-in-the-a$$ that was! Reminding #2 to leave a "turnover note" for #1 and making sure that #2 made all of #1's schedules. With the flip of the wrong switch I could suddenly be cheating on my fiance...WITH my fiance! Adventures in extreme neurosis.

But our wonderful Joni is just a Garden-Variety Neurotic, like the rest of us. Glad she's okay.

Peace,
Rob

Thanks Toni I went back and read the 'I MISS jONI' POST and got some clarity.I spent many years confused so in my recovery I try and digest all things, what I hear, what I see and what I feel  and then I pray before I act .I also have been posting Joni as far back aS  10 days or so  ago with just a message of hope and care. Thanks for approaching your response in a recovery based process.Like it tells us we are always free to say what we mean, but  we  need not  say it mean! We make a list/We make direct amends/We continue to take(8-9-10)In support and love to each and everyone of us who are working recovery"one day at a time"!!!Tomorrow(if we be blessed with that day) we will pick ourselves up,dust ourselves off and move forward smile

I was confused too. By the other thread, this one and a PM I received.

Sometimeswhen I think I perceive something like an espression of emotion in a post or in person, I often find I'm totally off. Just the other day I realized how distorted my perception can be.  (The alcoholism, you think!) Just last week I thought a beloved old timer was making a grimace of total annoyance in a meeting.  I was disturbed the whole time till I asked afterwards if all was OK, and realized it was my misperception.

It's a relief to find that confusion in early sobriety is pretty normal and that AA is where I find understanding and unconditional love and support.

Keep coming back and share the sober path.

-Angela
