I just thought I'd "get current" with everyone here. I have a lot of changes happening and more on the horizon, and I learned a long time ago that when life changes, upping my AA "practice" is a good thing.
I only have one day of work left, I've been here for 3 years and 3 months. That's also how long I've been in this city, and next week I'm moving back to my hometown where I got sober. It is bittersweet - leaving work, friends and this lovely city, reuniting with old friends and places. My husband has been living away from my 2-1/2 year old daughter and I during the week, and it is getting old. We are excited to be back together soon. I am now 8 months pregnant so I'm not going to work (for pay) for a bit. I've never not worked (outside the home) for more than a few weeks, so this will be quite an adjustment for me. It will also be an adjustment for my daughter, who will be leaving her home and her school that she has attended since 7 weeks, and then she will have to deal with a sibling. A week after we move, my husband will be travelling to England for a week. Oh, and I have a bad sinus infection and I'm on a second round of antibiotics - I'm tired! There's just a lot going on.
All this being said, we are faring pretty well. I've had to change some meetings but kept going regularly. I'm working on keeping other things steady -prayer, reading, writing, and some meditation when I have time. My life no longer has drama, but it does have excitement. Over the years I've always kept AA/sobriety a priority and now I am doing it in yet another way. These changes are a test of endurance, but I am very very well aware that all the good things in my life are a direct result of right living via the 12 steps.
Nice to hear from you and that things seem to be going well. I would not doubt that if you continue on the path you are on God will bless you in more ways than you could ever imagine. Take care of You, your family and the little One on the way ... how exciting !
I believe you are proof positive that living sober the AA way definately works
