Okay. So what happened today? It was uneventful, but yet possibly the best birthday I have had. I had a day were just about everything was as it was supposed to be at this moment in time and it was the first birthday I have ever felt like this...not caring what I got but just grateful for where I am and what I already have. I signed up to chair a large meeting and didn't realize the first thursday in july would fall on my birthday... Oh well, what better did I have to do than chair an AA meeting on my birthday? For real...I am not joking. It's an honor to be able to do it. It's an honor to be a trusted servant. It was the same beginners meeting I counted days at all the way up to a year. The same meeting I went to every week starting at 3 days sober. My sponsor and grandsponsor came and also my sponsee. I have come a ways in 21 months. I am so grateful to be where I am and that it is so qualitatively differerent than where I was in the past. Of course I have a ways to go and more changing to do....I know that. But being here is okay too for now.
No matter what happens at my work. No matter what happens in my dating relationships. No matter what happens in my family. AA has been and will be there for me. All I have to do is participate and give back and it brings me wonders. It is the greatest gift there is. Thank God for AA. Thank all of you. I may not feel this way every day, but I try. I sure am glad I feel it now.

Congradulations on the spiritual birthday gift and gratitudes for bringing it here and spreading it around. More evidence that this works when you work it. (((hugs)))
A birthday used to feel empty and boring unless I got wasted. Thank you for reminding about the simple and profound joys of sobriety. Oh yeah, Happy Birthday too!
Mark, I'm happy for you. Your an inspiration. You spread hope here on the board and I appreciate it. Gratitude for what god gives us and not what WE want is such a great gift of the program. Your an example it works if you work it. Thanks.
Happy B-day!! Thanks for sharing, the MIP is happening in your life and in millions of others who practice service on a regular basis to help the alcoholics who are still out there......help others and you help yourself.
