Still Breathing in...and out...in...

Hey All,
Been away but I'm fine, sober and good. Couple thoughts.

When asked the other morning "How are you?" my head was in a space that answered "mid-transformation, and like-wise I see."

With summer here, I'm going to two fewer noon-meetings a week and instead taking my 5-year old daughter out to lunch instead. Between camp this-n-that and mudpie-football-gopher chasing-tree climbing-bike-rodeo summer stuff I'll take the older two out in turns.
She's also inspiring and reinforces my sobriety. Costs me more than a dollar, though...but the coffee is usually better. wink

Out-Patient rehab is GREAT! More tools, more understanding, more hope and more reaching-out.

Peace, Ya'll,
Rob

Hey Rob,thanks for lettin us know whats up..Glad outpatient working out for you.Yeah one thing I had to ensure I kept in balance was "recovery at home"Wouldn't seem much difference to my family if I was out using and gone or at a meeting all the time and still gone.Bottom line I was gone...We find the balance that works for us and make the most of each situation..peace back at ya!smile

Rob

Great to hear from you!!  I agree with Mike,  outpatient is good but balance is the key.   I have been out of balance at times with all AA and no family time.  Thank God for my sponsor who reminded me about balance.   Sometimes it needs to be 100% AA sometimes it needs to be 100% family.   Most of the time the balance point in my recovery is some where in between those extremes.

Rob,
Good to hear from you and glad things are going well.  We get sober and recover to have a life.  That's our goal.  My sponsor reminds me to watch out for patterns of moving away from the program and not necessarily I missed that meeting or this one.  Balance is key.  I also try to keep in mind what got me to this point and remember that it can be gone just as quick if I don't continue to do the footwork.
Have fun with your kids and keep posting my friend.

You have the tools Rob. There is nothing about the program you don't know that I know...you, me, and the rest of us just need to stay vigilant. That said, the outpatient treatment would do me good also...more help and work on self is always a good thing.
