Shift work and Recovery Question
Permalink

OK, my spouse has had 6-7 months sobriety, things were progressing well, now he's on a third shift.  He's getting discomboomerated. (sp.)  Some of the old ways of thinking have come back and his meetings have stopped while on this job.  I am feeling a backward slide, and a little roller coastery.     I am going backwards now too, and will keep up with my alanon.

Anyone give me feedback, when they HAVE to do recovery  and work shifts?   Or once again, no excuse if work is made the priority and not the "spiritual' path of the program.   Thank You in advance.  : (

Hows my old Buddy Wall doin? Its been a while.

Sal Gal? Yu know its a lot easier for me to talk the talk some days than it is to walk the walk.

Ive learned some awful big lessons the hard way, and its all been with the book of hard knocks.

Doing absolutely nothing, sometimes is very hard to do for some of us.

If it werent for an Alanon meeting each week, I am sure Ide be an insane recovering alcoholic. ok--we arent going there-lol

I just learned over the past week what conditional and unconditional love meant, and Ive been in AA for 7500 days. :)

We know its a let go and let God thing, Sal. Easy to say. Sometimes takes a lot of practice.

My favorite saying is " We cant control them--we cant change em-we cant hit em with a hammer --and murder is against the law"

All we can do is detach with love, and let them go their own road, with compassion, and God and prayer.

Pssst---put the hammer back in the drawer Sal-lol
