Just thought that I would say 'hello' to old friends, and new ones too!
I'm still sober and celebrated my fourth AA birthday back in February.
I finished my university course at the end of January and passed with a grade that I am pleased with.
Unfortunately, on my first day off from studying I was diagnosed with a large tumour. So much for making plans for my time off!!! Two weeks later I was diagnosed with a second tumour. I had major surgery back in March and it went well. Nothing cancerous was present, which was such a relief.
I am now fully recovered from it and I can honestly say that I didn't think of touching a drink once, through my pain or down moments. Now, that is a miracle that AA and God has done for me. I couldn't do it for myself.
But, I received some more medical bad news today, and I need to see another specialist soon. But, I shall worry about that when I see him. In the meantime I am sober and loving life. My gratitude to AA grows each and every day. I am blessed with some of the most wonderful friends that I could ever wish to meet.
The best thing that I ever did for myself, and for those who love me, was to go to AA and start working the program.
I am so lucky to be sober and alive today. Just wanted to share that with you all.
Take care,
Carol
