Hello to all of you wonderful ppl,

Spoke to my mom just know and tomorrow is the one yr anniversay of my granfathers passing. My grandmother is with my mom and has had a very ruff couple of day(they were together for 65yrs). I pray today for her my mom and myself (for them mostly) to be able to get through these next few days with some peace on their heart. I miss him terribly, he was and still is my paw-paw. No thoughts of drinking, just wanted to share my love for him and my family b/c tears have already started rolling this morning. Hope today will pass by soon, at least I have to work and I am going to meeting this a.m. so I will grab some strenght from my friends and make it through this day! Thx for being here to listen to me! -Carla

Carla, I just lost my grandma last weekend. It is difficult, and I am sure there will be times in the future where it will be difficult. Isn't it a blessing though that we are sober, and can not only cope with our own grief, but also help others to cope with theirs!

Enjoy your meeting and I will say a special prayer for you and your family today.

Joni

It's been 35 years since I had a living grand parent. Both Gfathers had past before I was born. I lost the Grand mother that I really cared for at age 9. I still fell her presence as I do her husband the Grand father that I was named after. I don't think that you really lose them in a spiritual sense. smile.gif

The relationships with grandparents can be life saving.
I used to run up the street and hang out with my grandmother when my home was chaotic.
Peace, love & health to you and yours during this rough stretch.

I am sorry for your loss Carla. I didnt know my granfather well but i was very close to my grandmother and it was a huge hole in my heart when she crossed over. I agree with what Pablomoses says that grandparents can be life saving, life changing. I also agree with StPeteDean - I also feel my grans presence around still. I beleive when our bodies die we live on in spirit form.
I am thinking of you and wishing you good things, take care x

I am truley grateful that he was able to finally see me get sober and stay that way for a yr and a half, that is my blessing and I know that he is at peace and with pain no more.
