Good morning all. Well, yesterday was a good day. Did some much needed things in the house and the yard. Had a great couple AA meets. Tried to go to bed early, but found I couldn't sleep, tossed and turned, so I got up and read the BB some more. Finally fell out about 2am, then the dreams started again! Not so much nightmares, but really crazy sh$%. Dreamed of an old co-worker once, we never got along, last night dreamed one of the guys from my home group was walking up the street and I passed him and woke up in the middle of trying to turn my car around to go back and couldn't........ just some real crazy stuff..... these dreams wake me up and I find myself "disturbed" by them..... I don't have any trouble going back to sleep, but as soon as I do, the dreams return almost immediately and it's the same thing all night long......
Does this ever stop? It certainly makes for a very long, un-restful night.....I've had ONE night in 21 days without dreaming.....
Any suggestions on how to possibly "curb" them? or any insight is welcomed.....
Hi Op. Don't worry about the dreams, I also think that this is normal. Some of the ones I had were really strange. I think that the reason for it is that when you are under the influence of alcohol, it inhibits the brain from dreaming properly, now that you are sober, you just need to catch up a bit on the dreams. All will become normal again given time.
Best wishes.
Chris.

Hey "op", One of the things I do and have done for years, at the suggestion of a sponsor, was to write down any of the dreams or nightmares that bothered me or seemed important in my journal. Then I would pray and meditate about it, write about it...sometime God would show me something , sometimes he'd didn't.
When I pray I ask God to reveal things to me, many times it has been revealed in dreams. We really don't have any control over our dreams, but we shouldn't fear them.
