Hello All,

I'm used to the conventional meetings where I introduce myself as an alocoholic/drug addict. It's been 7+ years since I attended AA meetings regularly. Its been two days since my last drink.

I joined a chapter in Buffalo after travelling through the midwest and found myself at the bar five nights a week. I got part of my head straight, at least straight enough to figure out I needed to come home.

Now I'm married to another alcoholic and we're spending every dime on booze and cigarettes. And we're fighting like cats and dogs. My wife isn't ready to admit that a power greater than her exists. I have. But the disease has taken over again.

I work from home most of the time and am hoping to get back to a level of serenity.

Thanks for reading.

my husband is from Rochester and when we go up there to see family we attend a group called "THE YELLOW HOUSE"  they have some real stand-up people there.  i know it's over an hour away but if you and your spouse want to get out of the house and go do something there is a suggestion.   My husband knows alot of them personally the pre-AA days and they are some true blue people.   at least go there and get phone numbers.  they got 9:30a daily

welcome and god bless

Welcome Loris Husband, and welcome back.

I had to find out the hard way, and still have those times in sobriey today that I find I must put sobriety first, or there just is nothing else. Its just a dry drunk.

I share with you, that I had a year and a half, sober--quit going to meetings--picked up a drink-and was lucky to get back here after 4 more years of hell.

You are not alone my freind.

And as long as Ive been in this program, I can still go backwards if I dont keep doing the "Do" things.

Hang Tough Buddy.

Welcome Loris Husband, I'm glad you are looking for the solution to the problem. Keep coming here, keep posting and find an A.A. group.

Welcome to the board and welcome back!!

Some don't make it back, your HP must have a plan for you. Instead of telling you to keep coming back i'll say just stay!!

I look forward to your ES&H. Thankyou for the reminder that this is a one day at a time program and that there is no cure.

I'm sure you're aware that you must put you first, your sobriety first. Just for today, don't drink.

Hugs & hugs, Wendy

a drug addicted alcoholic in recovery
