my sobriety date is 9/15/05. i have recently started a new big book study with my sponsor and have been using the set aside prayer and loving the effect that prayer has had on me and my program. does anyone know the orgin of this prayer?

I have attended Meetings in Buffalo, NY that have used the Set Aside Prayer. I do not know the origination of it. Googling it brings a lot of information but I found nothing on the origination.

I think the set-aside prayer is dorky. I should know, I've been saying it every single day for the past 10 months, and telling my new sponsee to say it every day too.
Have never heard of that Prayer. Would you if you have the time, Post the... Set Aside Prayer?? Stumping my churiosity ?????

Toodles all, and Happy Saturday, oh and I now have a new Sponsor, felt the need, and found a great woman, with 30 something years that I have known for many years now.... Feeling kind of relieved, now I need to go out and get some sponsees too......lacking in both is not a good place to be in, and happy and greatful with HIS Help, I Prayed about it and then it happened.
Dear God, let me set aside everything I think I know about You, and me and this program, and these Steps, for an Open Mind, and a new experience with You, and me and this program, and these Steps.
The way I learned it is slightly different phrasing, but same basic meaning.
God, please help me set aside everything I think I know About myself, my disease, these steps, and especially you For an open mind and a new experience With myself, my disease, these steps, and especially you.
(I might add, "about other people, and about pretty much everything!")
