Just thought I'd drop in and say hello, hope all is well with everyone.
Its been a while and to let you know I'm doing well, went out Tuesday and got my G1 drivers license. Went out for the first time in 10 years to drive last nite, and no I didnt' hit anyone, lol.
Kids are doing fine, we have our days. Gotten out to a few more meetings as of late and started working grave yard shift.
I've had a 2 ppl come to me in regards either starting back to meetings and wanting to start going to meetings, Guess I'm doing what I can't to get them started on the right track....
Anyways, just thought I'd drop you a line and hope all continues to go well, think positive and it will get easier.
Glad things are going well for you. I wondered what in the world a G1 license was but I see you are from Ontario so that explains it. I lived most of my life just across the border in the Buffalo, NY area and I traveled to Canada a lot.
Great people the Canadians, They are so friendly and they wrote the book on hospitality.
Hugs

It sure does feel different, and well it's time to make a change and I'm so greatful for what I have acquired today with the help of the program I've been working.
Congratulations on the license! I'm debating getting mine back but-----maybe not. I've thought about it, though, and I know how scary trying for a license must have been for you. I'm so happy for you that you passed the test and that now you can drive yourself around! What a blessing and what freedom!
I was one of the rare alcoholics who made it into sobriety without losing my license, but not because I didn't deserve not to lose it. Just because I never got caught, but thank God I didn't kill anyone.
I have a condition with my legs and feet now that make it not really safe for me to drive. I'm raising grandkids, though, who are now old enough to get their learner's permits so maybe somebody in this family won't have to take a bus eventually.
Thank you for sharing, and yes I did have an opportunity about 1995 before they changed the sipulations up here in Ontario, Canada. I did have my permit to drive but let the time laps to do the road test.
I happened to be hiding to the beer one day with empties to get a case of beer and bang got into an accident, just so happens I wasn't drinking and well just glad I didn't kill anyone.
Took me along time to overcome this obstacle but did it, and yes I live a small which you need a means of transportation. Which made me feel confined and well now is the step to get into driving again and gain more self esteem and be able to get to more meetings without depending on some one else.
