I have always liked the way Clancy handles the first step, about how he explains "powerless over alcohol" and how it doesn't mean the bad things alcohol does for us, but the good things, how special it makes us feel, how we are the only people that can drink to forget we have a drinking problem, how we drink to fill those holes in us, how the only time we feel great is when we drink. Our problems aren't caused by alcohol, but fixed by alcohol, until we slowly slip into a delusional state of mind where we need to drink.
How alcoholism is different then "drinking too much", it's an untenable drinking coupled with an untenable sobriety, that one always leads to the other and back to the first
I always liked this guy, although he gets mixed reviews, he's a member of The Pacific Group, I always liked his "pitches" though

Edit: LOL listening to it made me realize I saw him speak once, I remember him talking about saying deep stuff with no substance "Remember, wet birds don't fly" to newcomers with a sponsee of mine, we were laughing all the way home
