2nd sober birthday in 29 years
Permalink

The first time I celbrated my birthday drunk was when I turned 15. The first sober one was when I was in boot camp and I turned 21. Yesterday was the 2nd.

Family, love, cake, lasagna and kid-made cards. I don't miss the booze at all. Today? No hangover. I woke up at 5:30 am and did some work research, wrote a really good radio commercial and then my 9 year old daughter made me waffles. My wife and I went out for tea and conversation. I took a long afternoon nap.

Sobriety is so serene and rewarding. I love this program and what it does for me every day. aww

Peace,
Rob

Happy belated birthday, Rob.  Glad to hear your day went so well and that you gave your family a great gift back on your big day...  your sobriety. Love hearing people talk about the serene moments. Keeps us all hopeful and awake. I'm happy for you being in such a good spot! Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Rob,

Happy Birthday and congratulations on it being a Sober one.  Its great to remember what happens on our birthdays.

My last birthday came just over a week after my sobriety anniversary. I realized
that turning 65 years old with 33 years of sobriety. That my sobriety had passed the 1/2 way mark.  In other words I had been IN AA for MORE THAN HALF OF MY LIFE.

In the beginning I doubted that I could be sober for 33 minutes.  My how the program changes us.

How is it done, by taking it 24 hours at a time.

Keep coming back.  It keeps getting better all the time.

Happy Birthday Aquadude! Did you just make it or are you a day late to be a Pisces? I'm thinking you're the Ram lol.

Pisces on the cusp.  I thought I heard that people on the cusp can have confusing or conflicting stuff in regards to the sun sign.  Perhaps you can be likend to a fish that was formerly caught in a whirlpool and almost drowned in alcoholwink Most Pisces I've known are highly creative people.  Happy Birthday, that was the point.  Glad you enjoyed it sober.
