Saturday afternoon, my first shift ever on the helpline starts in 50 minutes, Italy v Scotland on the TV and a regimental curry night tonight. Have I got enough on my plate?

eyes improving, only had three calls on hlpline, all to check meeting times and venues, italy beat scotland, ireland beat england, ironing done, got lost on way to curry night but got there in time for the second starter, (took 3 hours to get there, one and half to get back - fog and snow both ways) learnt a lot about afghanistan, got back at 1 in the morning. off to bed now.

It was a charity dinner with raffle and auction in aid of Help for Heroes, SSAFA and Army Benevolent fund. The location (Congleton) is home to a certain regiment due to be deployed to Afghan - so the after dinner speaker was a senior officer of the regiment who did his best to explain the mission. I was interested in the geography and history of Afghanistan. The rest was a mission and vision statement presentation which to be true, just didn't interest me.
