Hi,
In my experience it seems the Step's flow in a circular motion rather than in a
straight line.
Kind of fascinating how one connects to the other in order as the flow moves on.
Skip a step the flow is broken.
Some how the Twelfth Step is subtly preparing me for a new version of the First.
Always fresh, always new. Life Long journey.

Gotta' Love It,
Toad

I totally agree with you, I went to a convention in early days and heard a guy share that the steps don't go up and down, they're more like a clock dial, round in a circle, therefore, once you reach twelve, you start going round the steps again.

I will never not do the steps, God willing, cos the day I do, the insanity will return big style, and that's when this cunning, baffling, powerful and patient King Alcohol will get me.

NUTS = Not Doing The Steps

I love all those acronyms.

Hi There Wayne, and Nancy too,

Thanks for this Great Post....Amen to what you wrote, they, the Beloved Steps are there as a constant guide for living.

You have heard the expression, that with so much in live, the saying goes that unfortunately it does not come with Operating Instructions.....well I have always felt for all of us,

YES WE DO!  We have our Operations Instructions....the 12 Steps of Recovery, and of course they have to be a living-breathing thing in this little life of mine.....

Just like my Post of the other day, where I was practicing some old people pleasing BS, and lied about something, and did have to make a correction this am on the telephone, and felt all that green slimey stuff falling off, called SHAME,  with a 4th Step, I choose the 4th step, and not 6th or 7th, because of how bad i felt as just a human being for doing so.....

Without the Steps, as Avril said, going in clock wise motion, how in the world would be able to keep going and not go back to our second or rather perhaps, our first nature, and drink ourselves into oblivien to the end of the line.

Think I might have gone a little off topic, but hey as someone said a few days ago, Freedom of Speech  biggrin Right???

Hope all is well with you and your Bride.

Good growth Toad...stay with the program!!  How you've changed!!  I arrived at
my current impression that the steps are a value and behavioral system.  All
12 at the same time like you said...intimately connected and very close by.

Good to know... While I'm still clumsily muddling through Step 1, I'm excited to get to work on some of the others. And, good to know that I'm not alone in this stubborn refusal to "give it up," so to speak. Not so sure about how I feel coming back here again anytime soon, though... Blech.

Hi,
After each step is completed there seems to be a NEW sense of relief.

Nothing to be afraid of,
