Hey everyone. Just thought I would drop a line to let people know how things are going. I'm about five months along. I felt the baby, a girl, kicking like a champ the other day. I'm so excited. Its been such a blessing to help me stay sober. I'm thinking of the name Riga. I think its unique. Anyways thats all for now.

yes, a unique name! any special meaning?? I'm very happy for you! I have a boy and a girl, girls are much harder to deal with (for me) but so much of a blessing! I wish I had been sober when mine were born... I think you are on the right track, being sober. She, and you deserve it!

I've been "out of pocket" for a while. Last I was here, yuo were concerned about your parents...Are they "OK" with being grandparents?

I'm so happy for you...Best of "luck."

Awww bless, I have known many babies born into recovery, what a brilliant start to life to have a mummy who's sober instead of a drunken sot. I love the name Riga, it sounds Scandinavian to me is it?

I would like to know if it is safe to eat pineapples during pregnancy. I have heard different opinions on this matter. Some sources claim that pineapples can cause uterine contractions due to the bromelain content, especially in large quantities. However, others say that moderate consumption of pineapples is safe and even beneficial, as they are rich in vitamins and minerals. What research is there on this?

During pregnancy, many women wonder if they can eat pineapple. In general, pineapple is a safe and nutritious fruit that can be part of a healthy diet. It is rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, and also contains bromelain, which can help with digestion https://femia.health/health-library/pregnancy/pregnancy-health/can-you-eat-pineapple-while-pregnant/. However, in large quantities, pineapple can cause some problems due to its high acidity, which can lead to heartburn or discomfort in some pregnant women.

Also, the bromelain in pineapple can theoretically have an effect on the uterus, but you would need to consume very large amounts to do so. It is important to remember that moderation is the key to a healthy diet. If you have any concerns or predisposition to allergies or other conditions, it is worth consulting with your doctor.
