Hello family!  JUST WANTED TO MENTION THAT 'the wet drunk" story was meant as a point of discussion and not a forum for discension. My process is about working 'recovery" and carrying the message and not to cause more confusion. My only point that I really thought about was the 'STFU' STATEMENT THAT i HAD SAID i AGREED ON ,EVEN THOUGH i DONT USE THAT TYPE OF LANGUAGE OR DO THE TEXTING WORDS.For me it just meant ,sit and listen and maybe you'll hear the message....That was not how I would have approached the situation iif it happened in one of my meetings and WAS WRONG ,FOR ME, SAYING THAT.iM NOT SAYING ONE THING ,THEN SAYING ANOTHER THING,its just i am on the fence with the issue honestly.no one can know 'really what our desire is even if we arent showing it..Brett if your hear lets move forward in the spirit of recovery, give each other a hug and agree to disagree without being disagreeable.Let God rule this day and everyday and we'll all be okay!!! peacesmile

I thought that it was a great story, a bit contrived maybe smile.gif, but all the same, very inspiring. We do want to make sure that the hand of AA is always extended to that new person.

Hi There Mike,

Well I personally read all of your words, always, and when I read that response that you are referring too, what i saw was you reaching into your heart, in your own way at that moment, to offer in some way any help that you could to a person that was/is still suffering with this disease.

And Brett, I hope you are still here with us on this MIP site, and lets all just take a deep breath, and start over, just as Mike as suggested,  this is Sunday, Saturday is gone......

Hugs to you Mike, and to you Brett

Toni,

PS, Mike, dont think I have ever responded to two people in one response, hope that is ok with you........

Interesting, and only slightly off-topic.

My bonus was shorter than I expected this year and when I asked the boss "why?" she said
"Remember that thing we had a problem with? That order you screwed up and we had to have meetings about? After pulling that sale for the month from your totals, you were no longer eligible for that part of your bonus. This happened after you got sober, so I'm sure you should remember it."
I said "Nah, Boss...sorry, I don't. Have I made the same mistake again since then?"
She replied, "No, and you fixed it right away once you found out that you had screwed up."

"Well Boss," I said, "I must have filed that one in my head under 'acceptance' for my screw-up and 'amended' for it's fix. Sorry, I don't currently have a file in my head for 'regret'."

"Oh, well...sorry about the misunderstanding but yeah, your bonus is exactly what it was supposed to be. You upset?"

"Nope. Don't have a file for 'resentment' either."

The point and how it relates to the whole stfu thing...
It's all good, it's past and we all learned something. I may not remember WHY or HOW I learned what I learned, but I learned it.

Peace,
Rob
