Have a Happy Friggin' New Year's Eve!

For the first time in 28 years I will not do one or more of the following this evening...
Drive with one eye closed.
Forget where I left my car.
Get in a fight.
Embarass anyone with my WhiskeyWit.
Spend $$$ and have no idea where it went.
Get frostbite on my fingers smoking dope in an alley behind a bar.
Wake someone up at 4am to score.
End/begin a dysfunctional relationship.
Eat strategically to prevent vomiting.
Vomit.

And tomorrow morning, for the first time in 28 years I will not wake up with one or more of the following...
Excruciating pain.
An STD.
My face covered in blue billiards chalk.
Mystery bruises and lacerations.
A list of apologies to make.
Vomit on/under/around me.
Frostbite from sleeping in my car.
Mysterious dents on my car.
A smelly stranger in my bed.
An empty wallet.
A sorry-assed 'never again' mumbled from my bile-covered lips.
A mad search for the last beer I hid under the lettuce to start my New Year with.

Thank to My Higher Power
Thank to My Sponsor
Thanks to AA
Thanks to Willingness
Thanks to Humility
Thanks to You All

If I smiled any bigger right now my head would split open and all the love would spill out at once.

It is SUCH a Gift to be sober today!

Best To Ya,
Rob

Thanks Aquadude, right back at ya.

Yes we have a lot to be grateful for. I'm getting up at 7 am tomorrow to go skiing at Vail. Imagine how that would go with a massive hangover and 2 hours of sleep. confuse

Happy New Year my family of choice. aww

I'd like to forego all the above listed but in particular the STD. Happy New Year! Now I'm going to bed.

Nice one Rob - good innitt???

New Years Day for me means setting up a new bank account on the computer, and all things considered, I have enough money to last me for the rest of my life, providing I die a week on Sunday!!!!  biggrin  biggrin

Oh well, the fridge and food cupboards are full, so I won't starve, and I did say I'd like to lose some weight.  Money - who needs it????  That's a saying that them with pots of cash usually come out with.

Ahh...it's a good day. I decided not to smoke cigarettes today, either. I'll see how many of those "One Day at a Time"s I can string together.

Peace,
Rob

Thanks for that! Thanks for reminding me that I can still have more hell if I choose to drink again.

I also tried the stop smoking thing for about a week. I bought a pack of cigs today. Happy New Year's I'am going to stop setting myself up for the smoking thing just not ready to surrender them.

Love you too Aquaman.
