WELL....HELLO EVERYONE I AM MEGAN IAM 26 YRS OLD...PRETTY NEW TO AA , 50 DAYS SOBER IN 45 MINS.....LET ME JUST SAY THAT THIS FIRST MONTH HAS BEEN A ROLLERCOASTER BUT SOBRIETY HAS BEEN SUCH A BLESSING....I ALWAYS KNEW I HAD A PROBLEM DRINKING...BUT ABOUT 3 DAYS INTO MY DUAL DIAGNOSIS TREATMENT PROGRAM, I LISTENED TO A SPEAKER WHO LITERALLY SAID HE COULDNT LOOK IN THE MIRROR WITHOUT SEEIN A PIECE OF SHIT STARING BACK...THATS WHERE I WAS AT. AT 26 YRS OLD, I WAS TAKING HANDFULLS OF PILLS SELF MUTILATING WITH RAZORS ALL OVER TO A DISGUSTING DEGREE AND ON TOP OF THAT DOWNING A BOTTLE OF 99 PROOF VODKA....LUCKILY...I WAS 302'D...AND I HEARD THE SPEAKERS AND I REALED I WAS SO BROKEN AND BEATEN DOWN BY BOOZE. I JUST DIDNT WANT TO HURT ANYMORE. AND IN AA I KNEW I DIDNT HAVE TO HAVE THAT FEELING ANYMORE AND I DIDNT HAVE TO GO THRU IT ALONE....AA AND THE ROOMS HAVE SAVED MY LIFE. IF ITRIED TO QUIT COLD TURKEY...PSSHHHH...ID BE BACK WHERE I STARTED OR DEAD.....I JUST WANTED TO SAY HELLO AND I HOPE TO MEET SOME NEW AA'ERS AND HEAR SOME MORE STORIES I CAN GAIN STRENGTH FROM....
Welcome, it's wonderful to meet new people here and I am greatly helped to see newcomers that help remind me what it was like a mere 7 months ago, because the forgetter in my brain can sure go on overdrive especially when I'm doing good. It's great to see your appreciation for the support in AA. Congratulations on your time, come back here and let's do it together one day at a time,

Aloha Meg and congradulations on putting the first 50 together. Join us and help us stay sober also. As you gain more it will be that much more to give away to those coming up behind you looking for the same sobriety.
