Hello everyone. I am new to this program. Today is day 17. It hasn't been easy but with the help of about 24 meetings in the last 17 days, the message is starting to sink in. I have found a great "home" group where all the people seem to enjoy themselves and each other. The first meeting I expected everything to be miserable but here these people were acting like old friends who hadn't seen each other in years. I walked away from the first meeting thinking " I don't know what these people have, but I want it"
I am getting a sponsor and starting to work.
Thanks to all for being there for us newbies.
Merry Christmas.

Jeff

Congrats Jeff., and welcome to the board and AA. I'm glad you found a good group to recover with. AA is the only place where a room full of strangers can sit and reminisce.

Hi There Jeff, and Welcome to MIP.

Sounds like 24 meetings in 17 days, shows a lot of determination to get into that part of, "Dont know what it is, but I want it"  You, in my little opinion are already a big part of that quote, just how the Miracles seem to work.

I have a dear friend on this board, that looked at her drinking and then looked into the Disease, and just like a beautiful young swimming champ, she dove off the High Board, gave it her "ALL", and now is celebrating a tremendously awesome Recovery from this life treatening disease.

Souind like you in many ways, getting that sponsor, beginning those awesome steps that will surely save your life, one day at a Time, you are on the frontier of discovering a new life, the Gifts of Recovery that you will never cease to be amazed by.

Welcome to this family that YOU are NOW a part of, new or 35 years, does make no difference, we do this 24 hour Program together, and if you got up earlier than me today, you have more Sobriety that I do, today.

Prayers going up for Path you have chosen. Have a strong feeling we will be seeing so much more from you, and that it Awesome.

As a new person, this Board is HERE for you as you begin, any problems, any questions that a Sponsor cannot answer, or just want to vent anything, THAT is exactly why the Miracles in Progress Board is Here.

A Big Hug Jeff, so good to meet you.
Toni
Oop! had to come back and wish you as well, a Very Merry Christmas!

Welcome Jeff and Aloha...this family is loving and supportive.  Now that you've turned
away from the bottle for 17 days don't look back over your shoulder to see if it is
still there.   Keep walking away and enjoying the support.  You can have what we
have if you work for it.   smile

Hi Jeff...I too am very young in my sobriety (almost two months).  I agree it is not easy, but keep doing what you are doing.  I have had so many happy, sober people tell me that "first year sobriety stinks, but it gets so much better as time goes on!" So keep on keeping on would be my advice which it sounds like you are already doing.  Welcome!

Jeff, welcome! I found this website around 2 months sober and have stuck by it, asked lots of questions and it has complimented a heavy regimen of meetings, sponsor, service, and initial stepwork...the days have started piling up now and I stopped counting...only counting months now and it will be 15 months on New Years Day. So...my message would be this board is very helpful, plus all the ways you are already surrendering and putting AA into your life. I did the same things and it did get me over a year sober and still going a day at a time!

Mark
