"When a man is wrong and won't admit it, he always gets angry."
How's that for a name? Quite prestigious sounding...don't you think? Hope he wasn't born with a lisp.
I like what he said...I have my ex really angry with me tonight. I have raised my girls for 12 years without support, and he remembered them briefly for one Christmas and one of their birthdays over that time: only and always when he had girlfriends.
He has a new girlfriend. So there has been some contact in the past few weeks, as he trys to impress her and her son. I mentioned I was planning on getting one daughter a new computer as our study loads were bumping into each other and we were having trouble scheduling time. He says he has one for $100AUD (he is a wheeler dealer type ) and I suggest he send it up if he wants to, as I won't be able to get her a new one for a while.
I had a friend travelling through his town last week, so I rang and told him he could bring it up to save on postage. He said he was too busy. Fair enough. Tonight he rings and says he is ready to send it but I will need to give him half for the machine and half of the postage.
I thought about this for some time.
Then I sent him a message: It read: Give you half my arse! I think you have confused me with a doormat. For twelve years you have never offered to pay half of their school books, uniforms, medicines, food, clothes, sports or interests. If you want a fair deal, you may want to start by giving credit where credit is due.
He went off his nut. So...I am kind of relating to that quote right about now.
It's good that you can find humor rather than reacting in a way that will hurt you later. Hope you can work out the computer time with your kid...I'm still trying to find a happy medium. The teen-ager feels that she should be able to monopolize ours, then when I kick her off, she wants to get on the phone and tie that up for hours. I'm trying to find her a job so she'll get out of the house for aleast awhile each day.
