This evening I went into town (Barnsley) for the Christmas lights switch on to see Stavros Flatley, Lucie Jones and Miss Frank, and had a great time, but I was amazed that I was recognised by a group of school kids whose school I go to regularly to do AA talks!!!
This girl turned round and tapped me on the shoulder and says, 'Oh my God, you're Avril aren't you, I saw you at our school (Darton High) a couple of weeks ago, you were brill' Then she shouted all her other mates and says, 'Hey, look who's here'
It was so funny, you'd have thought I was a celeb the way they were after recognising me, I half expected them asking me for an autograph!!
Had a lovely evening, went with my youngest daughter, Laura and youngest grandchild Libby, which in itself is a miracle. I LOVE AA
*SOBRIETY ROCKS*

Im giggling over here. I have 4 kids, (one adult, 2 teens and an almost-teen) so you would think I would automtically know that *brill* is short for brilliant. But I was stumped over here wondering what brill was. Lol
I used to call going out on the razz 'getting famous' but really not the sort of attention I ought to have been after especially not in that state lol Good for you Avril it's great to carry a message with you everywhere you go. & out of the mouths of babes hey lol Love Danielle x
