Welcome to the board. I am sure you will find this to be very helpful. It is good that you admit you have a problem.

Which one is Bufford T.??
I gotta be careful to what I admit to.
Though it does look like something I used to drive.

Sheriff Bufford T. Justice would be the one on the right, in "Smokey and the Bandit" played by the late great Jackie Gleason.

this is BTJ's cruiser before Jerry Reed's semi took top off of it.  smile

Wayne,
Nice to see your post.  Yes, it took awhile for it to sink in that this is a WE program.  Without help it is too much for us.  One alcoholic helping out another to acheive sobriety.  My sponsor reminds me often that- we put down the drink and we talk.....
Dean,
Thank you for the humor.  You made me chuckle...

How grateful I am for AA!

I tried & tried & tried & tried & tried & tried & tried & tried & tried & tried & tried & tried & tried & tried & tried & tried & tried & tried & tried & tried & tied & tried & tried & tried & tried to do it by myself.

I finally got sick & tired of trying, sick & tired of failing, sick & tired of fighting it, sick & tired of drinking & drugging, and sick & tired of being sick & tired.

You all welcomed me with open arms. You said "Keep Coming Back" and I believed you meant it, in spite of myself.

I thank GOD for AA and I thank AA for GOD.

I love you all.

Hi Wayne,
I had no idea that you are a 30 year man. The year you took your last drink...
The Iranian Hostage Crisis was still underway.
The first Alien movie set the bar for a new sci-fi genre.
The Sony Walkman was introduced and cost over $200.00
The map of Eastern Europe still showed a huge area called the USSR.

and I had yet to take my first drink.

Wow.
Rob

We talked about "we" a little in a meeting today.  A gal shared that she was so stubborn and stuck in early sobriety that her sponsor had her focus on the first word of the first step-WE- for 30 days!  She says she knows 10 different dictionary definitions of that word by heart.  My communication with my sponsor the last few days also reinforced for me the idea that I am never alone in AA.  Today it has a lovely new feeling.  The visual I am getting is that I've jumped off a cliffside precipise into thin air.  An infinite number of hands have weaved a basket and carry me over to the land on the other side.  A few have tatoos of Popeye.  I guess that's a reminder to feed yourself with healthy stuff like AA for strength.

Now I'm on a mental tangent, wondering why the BB is blue instead of another color like green.  Must be tired because gratefully I am not wasted today, Good night and goodwill all, Angela

I think Popeye used to eat the spinach so he could fight and beat up Bluto.  Mayhaps that image came to me b/c my sponsor and I were joking about her taking folks out back to the woodshed, people who have recently AA outed me at work carelessly and without permission.  I liked that guy as an underdog story but I'm more of a pacifist now.

When was Reagan first in office?  My first drink was in summer of 82, can't remember who was pres then.  It looks like based on dates Leeu might not remember eithersmile.

I like to think of my humor as in development as God is not done with me yet.  I hope all can tolerate me till it gets better.
