Hi All
Just got back from a GSO weekend Forum.  Really neat. You get to meet all the Big Wigs from New York and learn how and what they do to keep the/our program/s in line.  Everything from Finance, Grapevine, Trustees(Some of which are Non Alcoholic) and how they all work together.  Plus they put on Workshops, Question and Answer Sessions with a number of topics.  A couple of the questions were intense and will have to be answered by A Board not by a Individual.

Learned quite a lot and plenty of Handouts to take to the groups I go to.  Get to understand how District, Regional and GSRs link together to provide for the Groups.

Most of the Forums are free--unless you have to Travel and get a Hotel Room in that area.  Ours here was at a Downtown Hotel--4 miles from where I live.

If you get the chance, go to a Forum and Learn other Main Aspects of how GSO works.

Brilliant report, Karen. I love to see how A.A. works at large. I attend our Intergroup 3mthly meetings. I've still so much to learn but glad to be starting slowly. I think such literature like A.A. Comes of Age & The Good Old Timers, which I look forward to reading some day, gives more info like this on how earlier fellowship & structure began growing into what it is today. The traditions give a good idea too but like I say there's so much to know. I'm glad & grateful to have & be accepted as something of a small part in this. I am enjoying growing into service. I'm sure it will help my longevity 1Day@aTime. Thank you for coming back & sharing a little about your experiences. I find it encourageing for myself & others too :) Godbless, Danielle x

So Karen, did you find out any info on the average percentage of Groups vs. Meetings?

Hi

Not really but there is a difference in how each are treated within the total system.  In some ways it is a case by case basis.   And it is quite a bit of a story other then what you have heard of. Best said one to one.

The way the GSO handles everything is by the Old way as Bill wrote it and there is not much deviation from it inless there is a real problem.
