  Greetings,
Hope this note finds you REASONABLY well.
Was interesting for me to experience the paradox of dying to live,
losing to win, giving away in order to keep.
A sufficient bottom seemed to create a willingness to give that strange concept a honest try.
  Really glad I did.

Amazing isn't it, Toad?

Admitting powerlessness gives us strength.
Recognizing our defects relieves us of shame.
When we stop trying to sedate ourselves, we experience true serenity.

Thank you all for being here.

Toad, that would be "surrendering to win".

Another one is - "Alcoholics are ego maniacs with low self esteem"

coffeecup.gif These seeming paradoxes used to befuddle me, until my slowly awakening brain began to work itself around the concept of grace. If there is anything about the life of this alcoholic that is a paradox, it is the infusion of grace into such an inherently grace-less life. The truth of sobriety emerging from the lies of the disease....how awesome!
