Hey Charlie, A good place to start is looking back on the posts here for a bit. This web site is good, but you should really get to an AA meeting and find folks that will help out. Lots of us started drinking young, and some of us quit young. Good Luck, Tom

Thanks Tom i havent seen any AA organizations here in UT, but maybe i havent really looked for one ... I will look online to see what i can find.. i think my older brother has more of a drinking problem then i do so it might help both of us to find one.
Welcome to the forum. I am sure you will find it to be a great source of support. I will keep you in my prayers. Try going to some local meetings and getting a sponser. It will work wonders for you. Keep coming back.

If you are an alcoholic you now have the chance to change your life for the better before it gets any worse. And trust me, if you got problems with booze, and keep drinking your life WILL get worse.
You dont have to suffer thru all the horrible stuff that some of Us did. Your young, you got an opportunity to live a really good life.
Give AA a chance, you wont regret it. Keep coming back and visit us , let Us know how you're doing.
Welcome, Charlie! Keep coming back. AA is really easy to join. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. This forum is one of the places where we in AA share our experience, strength and hope to help others recover from alcoholism. Every newcomer gives all of us the opportunity to serve and help and extend the welcoming hand of AA. That act, in & of itself, helps keep us all sober. Every single one of us, no metter where we are on the journey of Sobriety, strengthens the whole community. You are more than just welcome; if you have a desire to stop drinking AA needs you.

Wishing you Serenity, Courage and Wisdom, Rob
Thanks Rob i will look into AA around my area. I just moved here from Cali 2 years ago and its a lil diff out here.
Eyup Charlie, welcome to this happy band of brothers (and sisters). Try to get to face to face meetings. If you are an alcoholic and have recognised it young in years and do something abut it you could be looking forward to many years of serenity, happiness and sobriety.

WELCOME Charlie, I LOVE IT when young people realise their problem before they completely screw up their lives. I saw lots of ME in your post, when I first got to AA my name was Julie, and it was around 1 yerar into recovery that I fessed up about my name, and only then because I saw somoene in a meeting who knew me, so my cover would have been blown anyhow.
Here's a couple of links, you can read the Big Book of AA online, and listen to AA speaker tapes, try to look for the simiarities in what these people are saying, not the differences.
We're all the same, but we're also very different, BUT the fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous has a spanner for every nut, so keep coming back.
Welcome Charlie -- AA is the best journey I've ever taken. I'm still in my first year, but already my life is changing beyond recognition: and perhaps even more importantly, people around me are noticing and saying things like "you seem to have changed." One colleague from work made the off-hand comment that "Steve, you are one person that I could never imagine drunk." lol
All I've got to do is keep coming back to AA meetings and not taking that first drink today. Sharing on here with the AAs really helps too.
i appriciate the support ladys and gentleman.... I am happy to say that i was sober last night it feels good waking up on a saturday with out a hangover.. i even woke up early lol.. i was able to fight the temptation last night it was tuff hope i can keep on doing it!
I'm new here as well. I am 25 years old and have experienced many of the feelings you've had...
I just thought i'd welcome you since I know how it feels to be a newcomer :)
How has your week been treating you? Many people here have offered you a lot of advice and support - i am looking forward to reading many of their stories and looking forward, rather than back.
