On a lighter note...I get home the other night and there is a typed note from the condo association on my door.  They are informing residents of my building that there has been rampant drug use and prostitution going on in one of the units in my building.  They want any help and assistance possible to evict the particular tennant.  I moved into this place when I started my sobriety journey.  I freaking never even noticed this was going on...shows how much I was in my head all year.  I don't particularly care to participate in a bust as I haven't been affected or noticed this going on so whatever.  Early in sobriety I would have been real paranoid at the thought of police and security keeping eyes on my building.  The letter stated they are doing "undercover work." I guess I am grateful I have nothing to hide now and don't have to worry about police like i did.  No pulling up to the house drunk and getting a DUI...

It's nice not having to look over your shoulder all the time and they are even asking you to become part of the solution.

Maybe you need to leave some pamplets laying around the building!! :D

lol -- those kinds of signs would have soooo freaked me out not very long ago at all: THEY'RE COMING TO GET *ME*!!!!

Really glad to have moved on a bit in sobriety so that I don't think that I would be quite so paranoid today of those kind of signs.

I think its rather odd that the Condo association decided to bring this to ppls attention. Giving some one the opportunity to tip off the offenders. Geez.

Yeah, it is nice to not have to be looking over my shoulder today wondering if anyone is coming after me.
Im a legal licenced driver with insurance and legal registration. I dont speed, I use my turn signals and I wear my seat belt.

I will have to admit tho that I still on any given day can for whatever reason, get a little bit nervous when I see the law. Just habit I suppose .

Huh. I find it a little odd, too.
I, too, like knowing that if I get pulled over by an officer they're not going to find anything other than whatever dumb thing I did. Sobriety hasn't made me a perfect driver. smile.gif

Now that I think about it, if the law showed up at my house it's kind of comforting to know that my first response would be panic for all the right reasons (what happened!!!), not "does he know I'm high?"

Police still make me nervous. They're the only people with a license to beat my a** and get away with it.

well i would say that if your trying to stay sober that these people want nothing to do with you.. they want to meet people who want drugs and or prostitution.. if you keep up the image of a good citizen, hopefully they will ignore until they get busted. But it does suck having the knowledge of these kind of tenants, stay strong!
