Ok, Im really stressed out here, the transmision in my son's car just went under so now he needs a new transmission for his car or at least a used one, my son doesn't have a job, he doesn't seem to even care about his futrue or getting a job.  There are many other problems but I just can't talk about it all..

Im soooooooooo stressed out I don't know what to do!

Do I wanna drink, Oh, H_ _ _ yes.. But fighting hard..

I feel so pushed under I don't know if I can get back up..

If anyone out there prays I sure could use a prayer ..

Matisa, I just said a prayer for you and your son.  How old is your son? I have an 18 year old son who lives 100 miles from me and I pray for him always.

You can get back up and you don't have to drink. Life is always going to be one test after another and I've learned that I can get through them much easier sober. What are your options on getting the car fixed, or is it what are your sons options?

Have you thought anymore about going to an AA meeting? Just wondering. You are in my prayers and hopefully things will be clearer in the morning.

Ouch...I just had to replace the tranny in my van, I know how expensive they can be. One thing I did learn though, you don't have to get a brand new one. If you have a good mechanic to work on it, you can get a rebuilt one for about 1/2 the price. Wish I could tell you more about cars, but I'm pretty lost when it comes to that.

I can tell you about wanting to drink. I've found that when I was really down  and out, drinking thoughts came alot quicker. Maybe it's because for so long i used drinking to escape reality. So when i was upset or mad or whatever, my first thought was "screw this I'm gonna get drunk,".When I wallow in self-pity for too long, I get thirsty. I don't have to fight it anymore, though. I found out that by talking about it, that desire is not as strong. And by asking God to remove the desire, it does go away. And maybe sometimes I have to ask God more than once. That's ok. I kept asking, and it went away.

Call your AA friends, post on the board, keep coming back. Hopefully when you wake up tommorrow, it won't seem as overwhelming. And I'll say an extra prayer for you tonight.

Love, cheri

Matisa, I know how you feel about wanting to run away, the only problem is everytime I do I take me with me and my life situations follow.

I had to have are build transmission put in my car last year and it was a major company that did it. I explained my situation to the manager and he worked a really great deal for me.Now I need struts all the way around. Someday soon.

God grant us the serenity to except the things we cannot change, courage to change the things we can,and the wisdom to know the difference.

God bless you too Matisa, I really do care.

This is what I told my son...If you're old enough to drive, you're old enough to get a job and pay for it yourself.

What i ended up doing was driving him to and from work ONLY...until he had $ saved up to get himself a car. And he paid me gas money for the rides. It worked out ok for us, maybe you can work something out like that with your son.

You're in my thoughts and prayers to. I agree with the ladies...if it's his car then he should work toward fixing it. I take the bus everyday...thats from my own doings...i'm trying to save up for a car now. Its that tough love thing...enabling only keeps them depending. He needs a job.

Really great to hear you are going to a meeting!!!!! Horray for you!!!

Let us know how that goes ok?!

One day at a time, keep it simple...one stress at a time even.

well I tried to go to a meeting, but had some problems, first I couldn't find the place, secound black clouds started moveing in and I had to get home ASAP, I didn't want to get caught in a bad storm, so I floored it all the way home, I was a bit scared because I have been caught in a tornado before,,,  That was not fun..

I don't know what the deal is but I just can't seem to get to a meeting, somthing or someone just doesn't want it to happen,,

But i will try again  won't be till next week though cuz, I don't have any more days off till then.

Godbless!
