Morning Group !
What a great day to wake up sober, thankyou God !
I was sitting out on the porch this morning .. sippin on my coffee and having a smoke.  Listening to the sounds of the outdoors.
The Rooster crowed and for some strange reason I started to count my blessings.  I prayed that I stay forever grateful for all the blessings in my life today.
I asked God to help me to pause today if I get agitated or doubtful.

And that saying came to my mind .....

Good morning, this is God.  I will be handling all of your problems today and will not need Your help.  So, relax and have a great day !

I am gonna try my hardest today to remember just how truely blessed I am.

Will some of you join me and post today all the blessings in your life ?

Thanks , and have a wonderful, safe & sober day .

Oh yes, I'm in agreement. This day He has created for us to enjoy. What a blessing!!!
I like that, ".....I will be handling all of your problems.... will not need your help". So true, thanks for the reminder. I so dislike when I think I have to control everything myself....I become such a screw-up!!
So I'm in!!!

This could be a long post, but we'll start with another sober day, 3 years worth back to back and each one a miracle.
A son and daughter who I love but don't live with
A wife who I love but who hasn't abandoned me for good and then in no particular order:
A roof over my head
A rewarding and enjoyable job.
Friends who tell you the truth
Food in the cupboard
Spectacles so i can see
being sober
hearing
speech
sense of smell
sense of taste
being sober
My Mum
My sister and her family
my Mother in Law
My brothers and their family
hands on the end of my arms which are just the right length to wipe my own backside
legs, with feet on the end
access to health care
being sober
a measure of patience I never had before
a measure of tolerance I never had before
the ability to care
the ability to see the difference between behaviour and person
a bloody great big motorbike
being sober
being free
being content all at least for today

Oy, that could take a long time! I like your "this is God...". I, too, found it and wrote it on the front flap of my "Reflections" book.

Blessings.....
Too many to list right now, so I'll summarize them all in one word...

Sobriety!

Peace,
Rob

refer to Bill's list. that's about how I see it. I've been so truly blessed that it'd be awkward or embarrassing to make a list knowing that I complain about minor things on occasion. great thread ljc!

BLESS YOU - I searched my 'AA Stuff' file for this saying most of yesterday, and gave it up as a bad job, and hoped to be able to remember it right, cos I used to have it on my fridge door, but the cat desecrated it, so I want to make another one.  NOW, I can just copy/paste print and laminate and I got it - Thanks.  biggrin

BILL!!!  LURVE the Gratitude list. One thing I would have to add to it (Just beneath 'spectacles so I can see') I'd need to add 'Glasses to find the glasses' confuse

I am to glasses what Imelda Markos is to shoes!!  I buy those 'Two for a quid' readyspecs, I only need them for reading, but I always have to huhnt the glasses, and could do with another pair.

Hi ljc,

Great Post for today,

My own Gratitude list..
Thank You God for my life,
Thank You God for the Free air I breath,
Thank you being with me always, and letting my problems be in your hands not mine.  I have to do your footwork on some days, but today, is the Day of rest.
Thank You God for the love I feel, from friends that I care so deeply about.
And most of All, Thank You God just for BEING.....The spiritual power that I have come to know....and love with all my heart, always.

Here is my all time Prayer that goes with everyday, but feel it the most on Sundays:

Prayer of St. Francis

Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
O, Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Thanks for the great Post, and an opportunity to express our Gratitude out in the open, and off the kitchen table with pen and paper.

Happy Happy Sunday all,
Toni

I am grateful for being led past what it was that I though I always needed to
see what it is that I've always had.

God doesn't give me anymore than I can handle.

Sober and knowing and accepting who is in charge of my life with the
willingness to let that be.

I love attitudes of gratitudes.

I'm grateful for every breath I take.

Well-being of body is like a mountain. A lot happens on a mountain. It hails, and the winds come up, and it rains and snows. The sun gets very hot, clouds cross over, animals shit and piss on the mountain, and so do people. People leave their trash, and other people clean it up. Many things come and go on this mountain, but it just sits there. When weve seen ourselves completely, theres a stillness of body that is like a mountain. We no longer get jumpy and have to scratch our noses, pull our ears, punch somebody, go running from the room, or drink ourselves into oblivion. Pema Chodrons book When Things Fall Apart
