When our life is not working the way we feel it should be, faith, trust and patience will lead us towards new insights if we allow it. If you can remember not to panic but to be still and "breathe" yes you heard right, I did say breath. Deep slow breaths to calm you down so that you can hear and feel the spirit within you.
The Serenity Prayer gently and lovingly shows us options as to how we may choose to live our life. These options help us realize that there are and always will be things in our life that we may not like or even understand.
We can either accept them or make the changes that are necessary. Acceptance of difficult life situations or events, is never an easy task. Ultimately, it involves some kind of change leaving us feeling exposed and vulnerable.
Courage speaks to us from deep within ourselves often making its appearance when we are so wrapped up in fear yet knowing that somehow we must gather the strength to move forward.
When this happens could this be Divine Intervention? I like to think so, for I believe that courage is a gift of faith. A gift that cannot be seen, but one that embraces us in our times of need. A gift to help us find the strength that is needed to go on. A gift that brings us the promise of hope...and hope brings us the courage to follow our dreams and to believe in tomorrow.
Hope is trusting that everything will eventually make sense. Hope speaks to us of truth and awakening encouraging us to go on. Hope is the ingredient that greets us each new dawn, inviting us to embrace the mysteries that unfold before us. Hope beckons us to experience a universe that is full of wonder and enlightenment.
One of my favorite prayers - Serenity Prayer
God grant me the serenity To accept the things I cannot change; Courage to change the things I can; And the wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking as He did this sinful world as it is, Not as I would have it; Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His will; That I may be reasonably happy in this life And supremely happy with Him Forever in the next.
In prayer and meditation we open ourselves up to God and His Divine Guidance. When we pray, we talk to God. When we meditate, we listen.
Dear God, please find for me the things I've lost. Find for me a heart of hope and of trust. Find a love that runs silent and strong through dark days as well as bright. Find a ribbon of truth to tie around each fragment of my life. Find a joy and a peace that I can give to every hurting one.
And Lord, please find for me a faith that is big enough, mellow enough to admit my wrongs and to trust that you will still find me and welcome me home.
