confuse So today I got a chance to talk with my sponsor about "Bit off wayyyyy more than I could chew" and he started laughing hysterically. hmm ??

He said "What step are we on?"
"Ummm 8 & 9."
"No, ya big dummy - step 8. Period. Don't jump the gun until I tell you to. Did you drink?"
"no." (where's the emoticon for "sheepish"?)
"Good. You did whatever it took to keep the plug in the jug. Now, how many ears you got?"
"Two"
"How many mouths?"
"One"
"Try using them proportionately, dumba**. I said Step 8, not Step 9. If you really, really feel the need to make an amends before I tell you you're ready, pick up a dozen cigarette butts and put 'em in the trash. You smokers owe this planet a little clean-up duty and some more humility obviously wouldn't hurt you, either."

Man, I love that old coot.

Rob

LOL I love him too!!! Hahahaha He sounds like a real no nonsense kind of guy. LOL

He is right though. I have had to learn that "one step at a time" stuff the hard way too.

Thank God we did not drink, right?? Just for Today... and we never stop learning... especially with great sponsors like yours seems to be.

:o)

Hey that's just the kinda sponsor I need. But haven't got the nerve to ask someone like that. I just faded away with most sponsors I've had. Just like I've faded away from the one I have now.

Boy I'am just afraid of the results of the work. I will only do enough to feel ok, but never estacsy. Can you relate? Well I'am on step 8 and been there for awhile, cause most my amends or financial and just can't afford to make them. Will they accept a dollar? (Ha-Ha) When he says GO...then go on to the next step.

Early on my sponsor told me to pray on my knees in the morning.  I was like "WTF? How will I remember to do that?"  He told me to throw my cigarettes under the bed and that would get me there.
