We here on the southern tip of California have been going through this relentless heatwave that I have decided to put a new spin on it.  Now the Dog days of summer, air won't move, I have asthma, that gets so much worse, and cannot see an end in sight.

I truly must start thinking ICE CUBES!!!  and I know someone dear to me on this site, would be smiling and saying "Self will run riot ???", maybe there is some truth to that thought. Thinking that one over. Mental breakthrough!I get it, as in Me me me me me Post. hahahahahaha!

So wishing you all a wonderful Sober Ice cream day.
Confession: sitting here and Posting is just about as much as I can force myself to do, have had two cold showers, too hot to water plants,

Even my dinner company cancelled for tonight, too hot to drive, hahhaha!!

Ok before you start throwing things at me, I am going to stop, was half kidding about all this me me stuff anyway, promise.....please blame it on heat has gone to my brain.

Love and Hugs
Anonymous............... sure

I couldn't agree more.  I'm in Tennessee too (Knoxville area) and it has been simply beautiful this year.  Sure, we get our share of heat and humidity, but it's not too bad.  On the other hand, having been born and raised outside Los Angeles I remember the nice cool evenings, the beaches, and even being able to visit the mountains for a little skiing.  Gosh, now that I wrote that I kinda' miss the beach in southern CA lol.  I hope you find some reprieve form the heat wave soon, and take care not to let it get to you too much.

Brian

I feel ya toni...south florida weather is brutal, but I deeply know I'll be thanking god in february when my family up north is shoveling snow.  I also am deeply grateful no hurricanes wrecked us this year thus far cuz that would have been way worse than brutally hot weather.

Aloha Sister!!   I got into this family while living in Central Valley Ca.  115 degrees
positive only gave me room for gratitude that it wasn't 29 degrees freezing and
vise versa.   I did it all for the wrong reason until my HP told me to "leave already"
go back home where your spirit was created.   I don't do HEAT like that anymore.
There are toooo many others who have air conditioners and the willingness to do
it for me...Another program I guess.     (((((hugs))))) smile

I am right now in Western WA experiencing our first real rain storm that I can remember in ages. It's been sunny and hot most of September. I'll ask that the storm blow it's way down south.

What is that you asked Joni, thinking the connection is poor, I can barely read the question...biggrin

Ok, will own up to some Rigerous Honesty,  Where  is a Bible, Ok, just raised my hand and swore to tell the truth, nothing but the TRUTH.

After thinking that over, I have decided clearly to take the 5th, as not to imcriminate myself......here it goes again, connection is getting weaking my the minute.....

                          biggrin
Just a little footnote, I did however go to about 5 Stores, CVS, Best Buy, and Walgreens, even Bed Bath and Beyond. no one had any...Ice Cube Trays, think they have been obsoleted out haha, (just made up that past tense of the word up), ok, out of their inventories with all the ice makers that everyone has.

Toodles, Baloney cakes

PS. This is just a running funny little humor between Joni and me.  Had to add that for you might thing the heat has gone directly to brain cells. smile

Morning Dean,

After I wrote that Post, got off computer and said to myself, Must be having a Short Term memory Problem, and should me actually grateful for every single drop of sweat.  Yep, we are right in the line of Fire, a little bad play on words, but I live on the Coast in San Diego, and recall so vividly, last year, waking up one morning, with the wind making a sound like it was going to tear off my roof, never knew the wind could howl that loud, and it was only 5:00 am, then walking into the front of my house where it faces East, and looking at these blacked skies, almost in lightening speed flight, that is how it looked,  and if you looked hard, you could see the orange glow that was spuring the fire clouds, and all this was blowing toward the Coast, turned on the news and it was annouced that this fire was so intense with the wind factor, no containment would be in sight for some undermined time??? only when the wind slowed down. And the dire predictions that it would make it all the way to the Pacific, no area would be left out.

I felt so very scared, could not think straight, like a Bangal Tiger was in my house and ready to pounce.

Put all my efforts into calming down, and getting a grip, then made some rather Mayday  phone calls at, and found a way to get out of this area, packed up my stuff, shaking like you would not believe, and once I was with another person I knew well, and we were heading down to downtown San Diego, could I get myself together.  Found a cute little Hotel, that was reasonable, and there were many, just like I was, calming down, and so very grateful for this  tiny little room for as long as it took to wait out the fate of these horrendous fires. Downstairs breakfast bar, and could walk all over down town. Well, with a mask on, everyone was wearing one.

Dean, when I moved here, well before I moved here, I said to my friends, OK, I will see how I like San Diego, but it they have another Fire Storm, I will be back in the San Francisco bay area, the following year.  Little did I now the housing market would crashe, and the value of my home dropped 50%, in just over one year, and so I was not going anywhere, would have to stay in the Bed I made.  But the good news is that I am preparred this time, and have plans should we ever have a repeat of those Santa Anas bringing the Firestorms with them, have lived here for 4 years now, and only once, last year did things get so catistrophic.  Strong word, but that is what it felt like, and with so many people that did not live near the Coast, well I am sure you saw it all on CNN. Hundreds of families without a home after the fires were contained.  San Diego will always have the Santa Anas, but they come in so many different degrees, thank goodness.

Ok, over and out for today.

Thanks for the Wake Up call....
