I just love it when important people...or people who are trying to be important...do dumb things like the rest of us. You know...when Camillia or the Prime Minister trips over...or when newsreaders have a cough...I love that stuff.

When I stood very majestically for my wedding waltz (knowing full well I can't waltz) I put my heel straight through my wedding train and couldn't get it out. I was in hysterics and no-one knew what I'd done...I was trying to get it together, cos folks were frowning and what not, and I shuffled onto the dancefloor dragging my leg like igor! Eventually the band took pity on me, and changed mid-song...they started blurting out "I knew the bride when she used to rock and roll" and by that time I'd been rescued by a very unimpressed mother of the bride...lol. Ah well, a wedding rock really was a lot more fun than a wedding waltz, I reckon!

Nic, Thanks for the very funny vision you just gave me, I would have loved to have been there. I can laugh at myself, and believe me I do some pretty dumb, and funny things.

I had the honor of seeing my 18 year old son Friday night and my 28 year old daughter and her family yesterday, and these are the people who can make me laugh the most. My daughter had me laughing so hard I was crying and about to pee my pants, now those are the laughs I live for.And as I have reached 50, the pants thing happens more often.

All I have to do is look at my son and I start to laugh, he just brings joy, he is like sunshine when he enters the room. He is a walking comedian, he can quote comedians and sometimes does a better job then they did with the punchline.

My 8 year old granddaughter is staying with me until Friday and we will giggle for hours. She loves to be tickled and I love to tickle her.

I grew up in a home where my Mom didn't and still doesn't find anything funny, but my Dad was always joking, he was the alcoholic in the family, and I loved to laugh with him.He was sacasticly funny most of the time and I tend to be also, and have to get to know people, or I can offend some easily.

I love to laugh with others not at them, but it is funny when the news media or a dignitary messes up. I like to watch bloopers on TV, they are better then the real thing.

Our AA group has a wonderful sense of humour and since many of us have known each other for awhile, we have a few stories to tell on one another. It makes life interesting to say the least.

I do miss Stan's funnies he always had that dry whit.

Thanks again for the share.

(((Hugs)))

laughing...makes me laugh!!!!

not sure if irelated this story here or not but it was laughing so i'll tell it again

My youngest daughter was over for the night a couple of Fridays ago...there's a commercial on T.V. for YOP.(its a yogert drink)...they've manipulated these young kids mouths when they sing Yop...me mama....so as we were sitting on the couch i started imitating this commercial...Rylee was laughing sooo hard..which made me laugh...our tummy's were hurting for laughing so hard...in the middle of it all Rylee says..."Mom, we laugh the same!!!" OMG..we do!!! I never noticed before!! (jeez, and why was that eh?!)So now we're laughing about that!! Laughter is truly good medicine for the soul...

In emailing my mom back and forth the last couple of days we've picked up a lisp...not to offend anyone...but its pretty funny....nithe:thweet...

I'd pick laughing over frowning any minute of the day!!!

Ever heard of a gravity hole? this is a rare phenomenon but not unknown...an invisible hole that sucks the gravity out of the surrounding area. I know this because I find them all...and walk into posts that noone but I can see.

So, after tripping over puddles, etc...I laugh because I am such a klutz!!

Love, cheri

p.s. this was happening even before I started drinking, so I know it wasn't just the booze :)

LOL

I hope I can start to laugh at myself again.  I too do many clumsy things over my own feet.  I started to become real self conscious about it because I was worried that I would get a reputaion for being a funny lkutz.  I just realized if that is what I am then that is what i must be.  Being defensive about my fumbles only makes me a mean and unlikable person so I have no choice but to jsut laugh it off and accept that that is jsut me.  Also happened before and when i was not even drunk or drinking.

Cheers

Suzy
