Had a tough weekend, felt old familiar cravings and felt myself get mentally sick again so I could go drinking. Did not though and am off to meeting today, worked around everything else to get to go to one. Contacted hr guy and union and thats about all I can do today for clarification though am depressed at how they have excluded me from my job,not the union, hr. I feel that I was such a people pleaser when I drank that I am reaping that reward now, I did not take care of the things that mattered and I feel such a fool. I have good things going on though, so I need to get off the pity pot, helps a lot to read all your posts.

Good morning my friend. I'm very gald to hear you didn't drink, and plan on going to a meeting. Isn't it amazing how this program can help us through the tough times and come out ahead? I realized for myself that I may feel down in the dumps some days, and in the past I probably would have "drank my sorrows away" (lol...yeah, like that ever worked for me) but today I don't have to because I simply choose not too. I too have been having a bit of a tough time, but I need to keep in mind that if I drink, I can't deal with the problems at hand, thus making things much, much worse. I can already tell that today is going to be a fantastic day, reminding myself that I can start it over anytime I want. I hope and pray that today is great for you too my friend. We can do this sober thing, if only 1 hour at a time. Keep your chin up and keep the faith.

Brian

Sounds like you are on the right track and have a good outlook.  I have to constantly remind myself of my part in my situation and make the next right decision.  Congratulations on getting through the weekend.

Well done in getting through your tough weekend, Lorna. These things are sent to try us, hey. Everything I experienced seemed new without a drink on it or leading to a drink in the beginning. I began to develop a stamina for life I never had before & this program & my sponsor got me through some very tough times too. I'm glad you're working hard for your new life. It is worth it & it keeps on getting better. Thank you for keeping on coming back :) Danielle x
