I just wanted to give a shout out to all my friends here on MIP. I've been a busy lately, and haven't had alot of time to post, but I'm hanging in there and LOVING my new found sober way of life. I've started step 4 with my sponsor~seems a little scary. Thanks to all here who have helped me stay sober by letting be post, and sharing your experience, strength, and hope with me!
Yay Brian...Aloha. Step 4 for me was the magical mystery ride, the wake up call, the so that's what I was about step. Scary yes at first but then considering that I would get to meet the one person I had lived my whole life with and knew nothing about, hit the risk taker in me right in the middle. Take your time and look deep; (searching). What you find will make you stronger (fearless) and you will discover along with the bad some very honorable good stuff (moral).
Glad to see your post. I'm also working on my fourth. While I wouldn't say it's been agonizing, I've been the most stuck, and stumped since early sobriety. It is coming along and I unearth more stuff everyday. Wouldn't say it's fun and can't wait till it's done. In fellowship, Angelov8
Congrats on starting your Step4s, Brian & Angelov8. That's taking your Sobriety seriously & showing the disease your commitment. I was in an entirely new place when I came out of the other side of that though I was prepared to & did another Step4 a few months later so to be more searching & fearless. This 2nd time my 3rd Step helped me alot more as my prayers allowed me to go deeper & keep my faith.
I am sure that sharing all of this, then being willing & asking for my discovered defects to be removed is what helped the shame I felt all my life to lift. Obviously amends & helping others have done this too but overall it's just a fantastic program that helped me to connect to my Higher Power & feel this connection on a daily basis from when I open my eyes & ask for His help to when I close them after giving thanks. It's so good to know we're not alone. I commend both of you for your courage & determination. And Jerry & Dean of course! Well done you two too! Love & respect, Danielle x
