as i get set for the long memeriol day weekend thinking of what ive done for many years in the past on the long weekend. 3 full days of drinking, from the time i got up to the time i woukd pass out or black out and how this year is going to be so great spending time with my family instead.i am doing pretty good so far with all of your help have a good and safe weekend and may god bless each and everyone of you wagon
I just went over to pick up a friend to work with me today. I found him passed out. All the lights in the house are on, tv going. There he is all wraped up in a blanket. Of course he didn't here me knock or yell, so I walked in assuming he was in the bathroom. He has no problem, he drinks and passes out. Probably the start of the long weekend. He will probably be ready to work next wed. Party -- thurs-mon-heal a little tues and MAYBE WORK NEXT WED. What a life, it use to be mine. All I have to do is pick up one drink and I can have it all back. Going to take it easy today, been really stressed over some things that are kinda out of my control. Going to let go and let god handle them today. I'm going to go to and help set up a noon time group anniversary meeting today insted of stressing. I have a choice today. My friend may not. He will probably have to bite the dog that bit him. It gives me chills --- The thought of choking down some alcohol to heal.
Oh well just thinking again. I can only do it for myself, not anyone else.
"You are going to meet these new friends in your own community. Near you, alcoholics are dying helplessly like people in a sinking ship. If you live in a large place, there are hundreds. High and low, rich and poor, these are future fellows of Alcoholics Anonymous. Among them you will make lifelong friends. You will be bound to them with new and wonderful ties, for you will escape disaster together and you will commence shoulder to shoulder your common journey. Then you will know what it means to give of yourself that others may survive and rediscover life. You will learn the full meaning of 'Love thy neighbor as thyself.'"
