Hey All,
Anyone watch the Johnny Cash movie "Walk the line"?  Pretty powerful stuff.

Hi Tom,

Thanks, I just checked to see if it was available on Netflix. I had heard about it, but have never seen it. Now, I will watch next week.

Again thanks, Toni

I'm starting to get a little teary eyed (just a little--cause I am a man you know) when he walks into a church with June after detoxing. They do a great job of portraying the "people who care" which I equate to my brothers and sisters in AA.

I loved *Walk The Line* & shall keep an eye out for *Days of Wine & Roses*. I have an online dvd rental service that I can order films from & will put it on the list. Unfortunately *Clean & Sober* is unavailable for the moment.. Welcome back, Sabby!!!! How is it all in your world? Feel free to post us an update! Danielle x

"Walk the line is a powerful movie" and so is "Clean and sober".   There is no lack
of material for movies about this disease.  I also love any stuff done by Fr. Martin
and alot of John Bradshaw.   Those two are not done by standin actors.

Yes i enjoy walk the line so much i bought it. It was part of the run up to me changing my life and going to AA.

One day I was in a supermarket and had a choice of sandwich and beer or Johnny Cash American V - Johhny won. I went to see Walk the Line that night and played JC on the way home. When I got to the song which goes
I couldn't manage the problems I laid on myself and it just made it worse when i laid them on somebody else (came to Believe)....I had to stop the car and listen all way through. I thought the first part is just like me.

That CD was never out of my car for weeks. It didn't lead me to an acceptance of a higher power or AA or stopping drinking straight away, but it was damn good brainwashing.

So every now and then I get it out again and listen to God's gonna cut you down, Came to believe, 3.09 and Free from the chain gang now and have a good old cry, then I get the Walk the Line video out and try to play along on the guitar.

Certainly a better portrayal of the devastation and recovery than Ray.
