**** ABOUT ON LINE MEETINGS ****
Permalink

Hi All,

Sorry to say that in just practicing--getting into the OnLine Meeting, my Computer had a Security Warning........My Java option has expired.....just spent about an hour seeing if I could update,...................my computer that I have now is different that the one I had two years ago, but recall clearly that it was another program that would not allow my computer to run on that site either........

So sorry, I was looking forward to it being a little easier to get into.no.gif

Next week I will call my Computer friend, the one that set this one up, and ask if this is an easy fix. He's a real pro, and possible I will be able to join you in the next few weeks.

And Dean, I thought that was a great idea to make a "sticky".

Good Luck with this Saturday's Meeting. And Dean, did you find a Secretary or a Monitor for this first one???

Happy Friday all of you,
Hugs, Toni

OK I just tried to enter the room.  Got the white box and a whole page of text.  Tried entering my nickname?, I used the guest number assigned "guest 335".  At the top of the white box the text read connected.  At the very bottom I noticed it said error: not connected. I couldn't find an explaination.   Also says meeting time on SAT 9:00pm EST in the MIP ad boxes and at the meeting schedule link, and 8 pm EST at the chat room link?

Angel it sounds like you were in the room. You are assigned a "Guest #". In the bottom right hand corner of the page is a box that says "nickname". Put your screen in there and hit enter on your keyboard and your guest name will change to your nickname. Then there is a dialog box on the bottom left I believe. Type in your message and hit enter and it will move up to the white screen. You can even choose color of text and font (very important for Sobrietyspell teevee.gif )

I will try and remember to go to the meeting tonight at 9pm?

Ok, I opened up a screen in the chat room and left a message there for you to see that you're in the right place. On the upper left part of this page under "Links" hit AA Chat Room and you should land in the screen that I left open.

left a message there

Not sure about the message but it's seems I was chatting with myself in cyberspace, it was even colourful(in honor of  SobrietySpell).  Hopefully the meeting  works out.  I plan to attend barring catastrophe at 6 (9PM eastern)  Where I was it said 12 step group.  There's a button for "channels", what's that for?

Hard to walk up to the stoop, but gets better as soon as you sit down.  Hope others see this and come next week!

The chatroom is in a worldwide network of chatrooms.  The channels are the other rooms.  Most are idle due to time zone differences, and most are pretty odd.  One is actually a artificially intelligent computer that will talk to you.

bizzare, that might freak me out like talking soda machines.  I did see  the  variety of chat rooms; originally I was thinking they'd all be focused on AA, like an Alano Club in cyberspace.
