I recieved a phone call from my old boss, who had to let me go a few yrs back due to alcohol issues, and she wanted to talk to me about another employee there that had been with said place for numerous yrs and had got into the same thing, alcohol etc. Would it be okay if she gave her my number? Well of course I said yes please do. She was in detox at the time and she called today optomistic about this and she does have a really good plan. She wanted me to take her to some meetings that I go to and of course I will do so, we are meeting at Dunkin Donuts tonight just to talk and she will probably have questions that hopefully I can help her with.
I just feel really blessed and happy that my boss and this person thought enough of me to contact me regarding this matter.
Life sure has a way throwing you a curveball, then showes you how to catch it and finally how to hold on to it tight.
I love my life today...Thanks for listening--Carla

Carla good for you That is a 12 Step call ,.. My service is volunteer on the AA hotline ,,,we have a saying that if the person wants to stay sober everything you say will be right ...
It's awesome when you get that kind of opportunity. Be careful, 12 step calls were traditionally done with 2 people because of the risk involved. In A certain percentage (small I'm sure) of solo 12 step calls both parties wind up drinking. Not saying, just saying.
Saying yes to another drunk reaching out for help is giving it back. Of course the consequence is that you get to keep it also. This is how it works hey?
This makes me very happy. Thank you for sharing it, Carla. Your old boss had to make a decision but it wasn't about your worth as a person. Just goes to show. We can always be useful in God's time. Danielle x

"Being restored" And how that feeling of someone you knew, and know now, has turned the corner to see that you can now be trusted. That is so awesome
Let is please know how you visit at Dunkin Donuts goes, and if she is in Detox or just getting out, how about finding a Meeting for that night, or early morning that you could take her to?
Good to see you feeling good, and getting stronger.
PS. It was just last week that you were saying you were now getting back into meetings, and now, it appears, possibly, the Meetings are getting back to you. Made me smile
Hugs and Love,
Toni

My boss asked me if I would help a young lady that quit several months ago, and has a problem with addiction. She has not reached out to me, but it was neat that my non-alcoholic boss recognized how we who are/were "afflicted" can help eachother.
You are so right, life IS good, very good. And being able to help someone else is just amazing today.
Thanks for sharing!!
