Please say a prayer

My grand sponsor is dying of lymphoma. It is a kind that does not respond well to treatment.

My sponsor is very upset (and so are all of us in the "sponsorship family of women"). My sponsor said to me, "I have to face the fact that the woman who showed me how to stay sober so I could live, is now going to show me how to die."

Please say a prayer that God's Will be done, and that we can all give each other the support we need right now, especially supporting my sponsor and grand sponsor through this time.

Thank you so much for your prayers!

Joni

Hey Joni ((hugs))

Prayers for all are being sent and I will share this with my sponsoring family.

I wanted to share that just since December my Sponsor has lost her mother in a auto accident.  She did instantly.  She lost her only sibling due to an undetected blood clot and her sober friend's, of 20 years, husband just died due to cancer.  A very long battle this man fought.  He had more than 20 years sober.

For the last seven months I've been watching a sober member and sponsor walk through some really tough stuff.  This has also opened a new area of our relationship.  That two way street in sponsorship.  I can't take away anything she has had to go through, but she know there's a loving heart and listening ear there ready and willing to listen.

Thanks Joni

Prayers sent Jonijoni (((((Hugs)))))). Sorry to hear that. Faith that she is going to a better place will heal all grief. This life that we live is difficult enough without illness. Give your sponsor my best.
