Dear all,

Have spent the week at the course and haven't drank, though it is full of events to drink at. Thanks for all message of support, I have found an online version of the Big Book online and am reading same. I suppose I feel quite shocked as I didn't think I was the one with the problem too until recently, I also go to Alanon so it was a bit of a wake up call and deeply distressing. First couple of nights were bad sleepwise as I sweated quite a bit, have been to the gym every day to see if this helps.

Hi again Lorna,

Sweating in the night, and feeling shakey too, if you are, your body is detoxing.

I did not completely understand your Post. As to you being at a "Course"?

Are you on a trip, or on vacation???

Anyway, thanks for the update and good that you are here.
Let us know if you get to a meeting, OK??? Have you found a meeting and an meeting schedule, some that might be close to your home.

Again, just happy to see you Posting.

Hugs, Toni

PS. All this newness can be over whelming, but we have a wonderful saying,
"Easy Does it"!! do these things at your own pace, hope so much that will include sitting in an AA meeting, there really is no substitute for Face to Face meetings, you will discover that for yourself, when you go.

Toodles

Thanks for the update. That's great that you haven't drank...keep it up. It may seem like people are nagging, but it is very important that you start going to meetings regularly ASAP. I also suffer from asthma quite badly, and I know what happens if I don't take my medication. As A.A.'s our medicine is going to meetings at the very least. I can speak from personal experience. I never was able to stay dry until I started attending meetings everyday for at least the first 90 days. I would go maybe a week, then always fell back into my old drinking patterns. it's been over 100 days for me, and still go to all my meetings, and plan to never stop. AA has given me a way to get my life back, and they will do the same for you if you follow their simple program. God bless my friend.

Brian
