I have a question that I've been wondering for a while now. Here in Pennsylvania we celebrate our recovery as an "Anniversary". I heard that California says "Birthday". Which parts celebrate them as birthdays, and which do anniversaries? I realize there are other countries on this forum. I'd be interested to hear what other countries say as well. Are there any places where either one will suffice. If I said "Happy Birthday" to someone in a meeting here, they would look at me like I had two heads.
Here, where today most people recognize us now for our Governor, I've heard both. I say anniversary most of the time and some say birthday. Never had anyone correct me. To me it's not what it's called, it's what it is.
Here in Ontario - real birthday is referred to as belly button birthday - soberiety date is referred to as our AA birthday - and we also celebrate our group anniversary
Later - Jeannie

Welcome to MIP, Vinnie. I love that ~ Soberversary! ~ Soberviber's Soberversary! ~ I'm having that lol I wonder if I can catch it on here in Liverpool, U.K. With us we say A.A. birthday & Bellybutton birthday though obviously we only celebrate the sobriety date in the rooms :) Happy Sober Day!
