Well, that's what I got to say. I was very nervous walking in with a bunch of strangers, but managed to get through it. Everyone was actually very supportive and caring. Giving me hugs and handshakes like they were going out of style. The best part was some of the stories shared. I shared a little, but I'm still a little shy about it.
i actually wasn't the only young person there, so that made me feel alot better.
Congratulations, Corey. How exciting! lol I bet you're a breath of fresh air. You don't know how much seeing humility in a newcomer helps those of us who've been around a little while longer. Well, you may not now but.. you will in time ;) Keep coming back :) Danielle x

Hi, I just had my second meeting today, so it was nice to see you speak up. For me, it's nervewracking prior to walking in the door, but not so bad after that.
I feel I have made-up ideas about AA meetings with younger people, so I liked hearing your voice and realizing the important part is probably not age. There is a recovery center for young men in my town, and the guys usually stand around in a big group outside the club prior to meetings. I've been afraid to be one of the only women who is older than the guys, so I went to the women only meetings instead.
The gals in the two meetings I've been to were very encouraging about stepping out of the box, and challenging judgemental notions. They've said that while those meetings may have larger numbers of people with less sobriety time, the sharing is no less meaningful, respectful, and supportive.
So Very fantastic, yep it is scary before you walk in, but so amazing how our fears go away, withhjust even a few smiles, right? So happy you saw some young people to. Beginners meetings always have a lot of new people in those rooms.
And Angelov, Great to see you too!
Congrats to Both of You!
Toni
