Members..........I don't know if this is the right place to be posting this message but i don't know where else to post a message such as this.
i am posting this for my (common law) husband who is in dire need of a lawyer to defend a civil lawsuit. We are in Arizona. The lawyer he hired used up all his money and withdrew from the case. We really have no money left. I am 21 years sober and Greg is nearly 13 years sober. I am trying hard not to be scared but this lawsuit is devastating our life and family. If anyone knows of a lawyer, either in AA or not, in Arizona who might be wiling to help us pro bono or sliding scale, PLEASE  pass on my email address:  jtk1956@gmail.com
thanks to all who read this.

Public defender. Everyone is entitled by law to representation.

Not sure it's a good idea for you to post your email address on the WWW.....

Good luck.

THANKS for your reply............actually NOT everyone is entitled by law to representation.......there is no representation for a CIVIL suit unless you can find someone to do pro bono OR you have money............and we exhausted all of that and the lawyer bailed on us. I posted my email because i tend to trust AA folks more than "other" folks and out of desperation pretty much. Without a lawyer, if this suit goes to trial, he will "automatically" lose even if he is not guilty........civil is about money.

disbelief ANYONE can access this site,  my reason for the email address worry. disbelief

Civil suits SUCK. Gotta prove your innocent, instead of them proving you're guilty.

However, EVERYONE is entitled to representation. Call your loca public defender's office. They'll request a financial form to be filled out and paycheck stubs, bank statements, etc. If you qualify, problem solved. If you're broke, then you qualify, problem solved. But get busy, cause the PD's are usually  back logged.

Prayers it works out.

Yeah I would say your best bet is a public defender. I hope something good comes of this for you. Lawsuits are no fun.
