Job interview scary in sobriety
Permalink

I'm on the train going to a job interview my first one in about 5 years and my first one sober
When I got up this morning I didn't think about drinking but I'm nervous and how cunning baffling and powerfull is my disease that ihad a thought a stiff drink would cure my nerves than god I can think the drink through and recognize if I had a drink I wouldn't even go to the interview in fact I'd probably pass out on the train and end up at the last stop the conductor waking m up
Ma'am it's the end of the line
Wouldn't be the first time
So just for today I'm gonna pull up my big girl pants and go and be a confident woman of god
Hope the interviewer is like the broad from devils wear prada

Don't worry about it. Everything will be fine. Just stay confident and polite and it will all work out.

Hi Natalie,

When you read this, the interview will be over, hope you let us know how it did go.

I noticed from another Post, that you are new here, and would like so much to get to know you, so anytime you want to start a Post, it would give all of us a chance to get introduced.

I hope so much that if it was a job you were excited about, that you did get the job.
For some reason it made me think of that deoderant commercial of: "If you are not a little nervous, you are not alive". I think of that anytime I am feeling a little apprehensive or nervous about something, makes me smile.

Just wanted to say a big WELCOME to you!

Toni

(((((natshen)))))

I hope it all went well and then you're prepared for the next step.   You're right
a drink would calm the nerves and calm the desire for a job also.  Then the
procrastination sets in and then....and then...

(((((hugs))))) smile

Welcome to MIP, Natalie & Well done in your job interview. Always great experience whatever the outcome. It is great when we meet others in recovery in all kinds of places. That's our recovery revolution in progress I like to think ;) lol Nice to meet you.  Keep coming back, Danielle x
