Trying to make it one......my mom is getting some tests done for cancer on the 19th...sigh....i just was talkin to my niece on msn..she tells me that my sister is on her way over to moms for an evening of "drinks"......my sister was just diagnosed with asmatic bronchitis...is on antibiotics and has missed a ton of work...obviously she feels well enough to "drink"...and as for my mom....well,,,i ifnd it hard to believe that she even feels like drinking...ya,...and that said by this "alcoholic"...sigh...i know i'm poweerless over saving them...my niece sounds [pretty down about it...is as we speak ...cooking herself and her little sister scrambled eggs for supper...sigh.I've had a pretty yukky headspace for the last couple of days...trying to pull myself out of it...thinking about gratituda and..love...how to go about loving myself for who and what i am...and not to be worried but concerned for those i love...like they were for me when i was in active addiction...i live in acity where i don't have any family(they live 500 miles away) and as for friends well,,,they all use...i'm trying to make friends in the program but am finding out just as when i was "out there" and looking for REAL people i'm doing exactly the same in recovery...looking for REAL people.

I cannot believe that i asked 3 people today if they would mind helping me out with a ride to a meeting today...all of them were going to the meeting but couldn't pick me up??????

And how is their program working for them I'm wondering???

The buses here have a different schedule on Sundays...start at 11 am and quit at 6 pm...there is ameeting at 11 am and 8 pm...crap.........

so to try to keep out of my own head i'm sitting here and reading around...hoping and praying that i get through this 312th day clean and sober...thanks for listening and being here...it mean s alot to me   \\/ peace

Hey Wendy,

Hang in there! Sometimes life rears it's ugly head, but the next day it doesn't look so bad. Did you ever find a sponsor? This is some of the stuff you should be talking over with her. Just a thought on the transportation problem... take the last bus to the meeting, show up early and help make coffee or set up the meeting, and ask someone for a ride home. I found that when I volunteered to help out, Thats when I met the "real" people in the program.

Keep on...keepin' on.

Love ya, cheri

hey Cheri, thanks for that!!! taking the last bus is a great idea!!!  I went a for coffee to my old treatment centre that day,,,i moved 2 doors down from it. The lady i spoke to there says she knows someone who takes on sponsees and would give her my number. At least thats a step in the right direction. Hopefully she calls me. I am patting myself on the back today...i needed someone to talk to, recognized that, and found someone,,the result? i stayed clean and sober!!

Working on day 313 :), hope you's are safe and smilin"    \\//

wantneeda..  I'm so glad that you shared what yu were going through with us. It is good to share with a sponsor,, and it is good to share with us too. I know what you mean about transportation on Sundays,,, I go through the same things. How old is the niece that cooked the scrambled eggs?  I want to put you all in special prayer. I'm glad u found that you could go to that place that is 2 blocks away.   Progress is being made!  A step at a time, a day at a time.

Thank God for another day of sobriety.

love in recovery,

amanda
